The Content Has to Resonate with Your Customers!

Hello March! Spring is here (well, at least here in California) in all its beautiful glory. If you're like me, you too might be experiencing the aftermath of everything being in bloom - allergies. But I digress. This month let's talk about messaging!

Because messaging matters...a LOT.

What you say and how you say it matters.

How quickly you hook someone's attention matters so your marketing message has to be engaging and interesting.

Hook 'em

I'm not talking about the Texas A&M Longhorns. I'm talking about the hook you use to draw people in and engage them. You've got a limited time to capture someone's interest...think 3-5 seconds.

Make that initial message pack a punch!

When you bring your customer into the story, you engage them. How does your product or service improve their lives? Focus on the customer - not the product!

Who's your message really for?

Are you speaking all about yourself and how great your business is? Are you listing out a bunch of boring technical specs? If so, you've probably lost your customers' interest.  Bring your customer into the story. Show them how THEIR life is going to be easier/better by using your products or services.

Be concise.

Does your newsletter need to be 10 pages long or can you consolidate? If you want to write lengthy articles, drive people to your blog posts on your website and include a quick intro blurb on your newsletter. Short is sweet. Remember, attention spans are limited!
